So, it’s been a week working at my new shift; Wed – Sat, 7 pm – 5:30 am. I have to say, I’m really enjoying it. For it being in the middle of the night, I’m widely awake. The atmosphere during this shift is so relax, I don’t feel tense or stress. Not to mention that I like talking to the customers that call in. Granted, most of the customers that call are mainly from overseas. It’s nice to talk to a different group of people. That and also, it’s quieter during the night. I get to shmooze with the customers while on the phone, no more having to fix their issue and get them off just to get to the next customer.
The greatest thing happened. My company had the power go out for 12 hours. I didn’t have to come in until 10 pm and it still wasn’t working. I didn’t actually start work until 11:30 pm. Something happened with one of the parts used with the transformers… no, not the robots in disguise, the big cylinder things hanging from the power poles, blow up. Knocked out power and our IT guys were thinking that when it blow, it caused most of computers here to fry the motherboard or the power supplies. Fortunately for them, nothing happened with any of our equipment and we were able to get right to work when the power came back on. First though, our IT’s needed to make sure the all our servers booted up correctly. They were thinking it was going to take about 2 hours to get everything back up but when it came down to it… when the power came on, the servers, all of them, booted right up about the same time with no problem.
It was a nice time having the extra 3 hours off. Mrs and I went to her grandparents place and they took us out to eat at Wienerschnitzel. A great place for chili dogs and chili fries. I’ll try to work on more drawings when I get the time. Sorry guys but I’ve been hit be a lazy bug and distracted too. Post ya later.
